Indoor Positioning
About
WiFi Indoor Positioning
WiFi Indoor Positioning is an emerging technology that will enable accurate positioning of a mobile device inside buildings.
WiFi Indoor Positioning is based on IEEE 802.11mc WiFi protocol.
It is based on fine-time-measurement of RTT (round time trip) of signals in WiFi bands.
It is one of the major new features in Android 9 Pie.
Compulab
WiFi Indoor Location
solutions
Compulab, an Intel IoT Solution partner, is offering:
- Ready-to-deploy IoT gateways with Indoor WiFi Location capabilities (FTM responders)
- Ready-to-use WiFi Indoor Positioning development kits including FTM responders and FTM client devices
FTM responder is based on Compulab fitlet2 powered by Intel® Apollo Lake E3900 and Intel® Dual Band Wireless AC8260.
Android 9 Pie
interoperability
Compulab FTM responders are fully compatible with Android 9 Pie and are proven to work with Android devices supporting WiFi RTT API.
