I am a IPC2 customer with two models (core i5 and core i7 models).
I just sent my i7 for an FACE Gigabit upgrade and get it back and I started to play with it..
I am trying to install a Linux on it and I realized that it is constantly reporting 75°C with almost 0% CPU utilization...
For the first 10 seconds I was thinking about disk / memory but, to give an idea and a comparison with my core i5 unit with exactly the same SSD / same memory / same Linux version, it is running at 40° when the PC is doing nothing (which is acceptable and normal).
On my i7 just a little task is making the temperature reaching very high level (90-100°C) and it is almost unusable..I am not expecting this on a high level product like the IPC2 i7 which is one of your flagship / most expensive unit.
It is not possible to use more than 10% of the CPU Power before it beggind to throttle.
What can I consider a normal temperature comparing to your baselines?
I think there is definitely a problem when I compare against my i5 even if i7 has more power and heats more but it is almost twice the temperature of the i5.

On important thing I noticed which can help to troubleshoot : when I run my test on my i5 it cames very hot when I put my hand on it (which is not a problem as it was 100% CPU)
When I ran the test on my i7 it was cold and I am sure it is the result of the processor is lower the frequency quite a lot and throttle a lot, I get almost half the power of my i5..
Is it possible that the processor is badly reporting the temperature and then the system starts to throttle to protect the CPU ? It is easy to see that as soon as I hit my stress test button I only need to wait 2 seconds to see 99% on lm_sensors (to compare on i5 it is gradually adding 2 or 3° every minutes, it confirms it has something wrong somewhere on my unit.)
Many thanks,
Concerns on IPC2 i7

The quick rise in reported CPU temperature in the IPC2-i7 while the case remains cool indicates insufficient thermal coupling between CPU and heatsink.
I suggest to investigate the problem further with our technical support and then decide how to proceed for ensuring you have a fully functional system.
Please email support@fit-pc.com with the case description and IPC2 serial number.
