Wireless not working after update to Mint 17

Dear forum,
I've updated my recently purchased fit-pc3 Linux pro to use Linux Mint 17. Although the wifi worked fine with the live usb during installation, it fails to connect after reboot. The wireless networks are visible in the network app and the systems tries to connect, but fails.
Please advise
