Poor WiFi performance (Latency) Linux Mint 13 (Maya)

Post by Skinner »

Hi All! I bought a fit-PC3 back in Mid-October to use as a media server project. All was well except for huge latency/packet loss. I thought the problem was my router so I finally got around to replacing it and there has been no change. When pinging from my PC to my Fit-PC (We'll call it ThinMint) I have loss and latency spikes. The tracert shows My PC -> Router -> ThinMint and back. I average 200-250ms. Now, any other device to device seems fine. Is there any chance that I got a bad wireless card? The antennas that came with ThinMint are screwed in as far as they will go without a tool. If I cover the one near the power button there is absolutely no change but If I cover the one on the other side everything timesout. I am suspecting that only one is active.

Should have mentioned earlier but I have an N-router in the same room as ThinMint. Thanks in advanced!

Does your Wireless connection is going down?
If it is going down, do you have to reset the machine?

Please consider to install Linux Mint 15 with its kernel drivers, the official Compulab Linux OS.
