PXE boot in FitPC3

Post by peque »

Hey Forum. Just bought my first fitPC3 pilot - for testing it as frontend to MythTV!
As I bought it diskless- I have an already running PXE-boot setup!
But after looking thgrough the BIOS - I cannot seems to make it work properly!
Under Advanced - Boot configuration - I cannot find anything about the PXE boot!
Under AMD - Platform - I've enabled :
Internal Network boot rom
External Network Boot rom

But the network does seem to be available under boot option:
There's all ATA DISK - USB devices
Atapi CD and Internal Shell!

I cannot seem to find anywhere - how to get this up and running.
Normally testing proposes doesn't give me any options for boot on network!
Can you please give the answer for howto make it boot on the network!

PXE boot is not supported in current BIOS. We intend to enable it in future BIOS versions.

Do you have an expected time frame for this? Also watchdog support in BIOS?

When will you expect the next BIOS release to be out in the open ?
I'm waiting for the PXE option before I can do anything with my FitPC? Since everything is pending on this boot feature - since my Whole setup for MythTV is running diskless system and bought this one for that exact options!

Hi there.
I would just like to follow up on this - we have several customers waiting for PXE boot support :)

Is this just expected to be included in future BIOS versions or is it expected in the upcoming BIOS release for fit-PC3 (final production BIOS version).

Regarding the latter I suppose it will be uploaded to the wiki soon?

Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards,

next week is gone and still no PXE Bios available ;-|

The missing PXE Feature renders the FitPC3 useless for several
projects going on here.

I tried to circumvent the missing PXE Feature by useing
ipxe open source boot firmware but ipxe does send/receive dhcp packets properly.
Testing gpxe gives unstable results (does work sometimes and sometimes not; packet loss?).
Did someone habe a stable iPXE or gPXE netboot solution?

Kind Regards
