Fit-PC3 Memory problem

Post by de-shu »

Hi!,

I've got a memory compatibility issue with my Fit-PC3LP.
I've recently purchased a Fit-PC3LP Barebone.

The specs say, it supports DDR3/DDR3L-1333 memory chips.
http://www.fit-pc.com/web/products/spec ... 0-T40E-FM0

So, I've purchased two Kingston KVR13LSE9/2 DDR3L-1333 memory chips. However, with the chips installed, the computer won't boot. The logo becomes green, but nothing on the screen (no BIOS, nothing at all) and USB ports are not powered on.
I've tried all combinations of my two memory chips and two slots, the result is the same.
I've also tried to boot it up with Kingston KHX16S9P1K2/16 DDR3-1600 and it works normally, which proves it is a memory compatibility issue.

Digging into the web, I've found another specs on http://www.fit-pc.com/fit-pc3/docs/fit- ... ations.pdf which says that only DDR3-1066 is supported.

That contradicts from the above advertized specs (and my chips) in two aspects:
1. 1066 instead of 1333
2. DDR3 instead of DDR3/DDR3L

Digging further I've found another fit-pc3 datasheet on http://fit-pc.com/download/fit-pc3/docu ... cation.pdf which says:

G-T40E supports up to DDR3/DDR3L-1066 memories speeds.
Fit-PC3/3i system architecture provides support for 1.5V (DDR3) and 1.35V (DDR3L) power supplied SO-DIMMs. The adjustment of power rail for the memories and Memory Host Controller IOs is performed automatically without user or BIOS intervention.

Note that it also contradicts with the first link, but just in the first aspect this time.
So, it looks like the second aspect (low power) is not an issue.
However I also believe the first one is not an issue either, since my DDR3-1600 chip was able to run on 1066 speed, I suspect DDR3L-1333 would also be able to do it.

Please advise where I'm wrong. Which specs are correct? Is Fit-PC3LP compatible with DDR3L? Why my DDR3L-1333 chips are not working?

Issue is solved.

As advised by support, I was using ECC memory which is not supported. Thanks!
