After install EMGD driver, the screen blanks

Post by MRTRACKER »

I follow the manual:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gma500/emgd
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xorg-emgd emgd-dkms
sudo emgd-xorg-conf

But I could not get any lucky. The login image doesn't show up.

I had the same problem. To fix it I undid the last step by deleting the file:
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-emgd.conf

Then I copied the xorg.conf file from the downloads section:
http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/ubuntu/ ... gd.default

I renamed it to xorg.conf and put it in the /etc/X11 folder.

Having said that, I've reverted back to the default driver for now as it still doesn't work right with the Unity interface and it's unstable in the classic interface. (The screen starts to corrupt after a couple of hours and eventually the machine locks up.)

It would be good to get some fixes for this.

Hello

I am sorry, but we do not support Ubuntu 11.04 for now. The main problem is iegd video drivers issues with Xorg 1.10
