Infrared Receiver driver needs help -lirc_igorplugusb - LIRC

Post by cbgoodbuddy »

Hello--

There are still problems with the IR receiver (embedded Igor Cesko USB device). A compulab person (Denis) reported the problem in the following bug...

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/364699

... but the situation is still not fixed. There are many buffer overruns which cannot be recovered.

The final patch posted by kubuntu-rk on that bug entry does fix the problem however. It makes large enough buffer within the driver to capture more (not all) of the IR remote signals. Is there a way you can push a fix into the Ubuntu kernel? The development of LIRC seems dead, and now Ubuntu keeps the LIRC drivers in the kernel anyway.

Thanks,
Craig
P.S. This issue applies to both Mint 9 and Mint 13.
