CMOS battery?
CMOS battery?
My Fit PC slim is now constantly losing the CMOS settings and thus failing to boot. Is there a replaceable battery on the PCB or even one that can be desoldered and replaced to sort this issue?
Re: CMOS battery?
Hi irads, thanks for your reply. That sort of helps, at least it will now be easier to recover with my settings saved as defaults.
But, I think I will have to go into setup each time and restore the settings (not tested that yet). But even more importantly is will the realtime clock keep time and not reset each time I power up? -- Hence my original question regarding an internal battery.

Re: CMOS battery?
Using the procedure above settings are stored in FLASH and are independent of the battery.
As long as you have power connected - time should be kept.
If your computer is networked, you may use internet time for timekeeping.
