WLAN support Ubuntu 8.04

Post by enterz »

Hi everyone,

Does anyone got WLAN working in ubuntu 8.04?
Mine doesn't seem to work even on the default install from the supported Ubuntu image.

lspci gives me:
root@ubuntu-fitpc2:~# lspci
...snipped some lines...
03:00.0 Network controller: RaLink Unknown device 3090
lshw -class NET gives me:
*-network UNCLAIMED
description: Network controller
product: RaLink
vendor: RaLink
physical id: 0
bus info: pci@0000:03:00.0
version: 00
width: 32 bits
clock: 33MHz
capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list
configuration: latency=0
Do I 'manually' need to configure this or will the gnome nm-applet detect it (if so.. it's not working here)

No wireless in Ubuntu out of the box ATM.
A quick search of the forums will turn up the information below. Lot's of info in here, use the forum's search function.

RaLink Linux support at http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/S ... Linux.html

We will add it as part of the recovery image in later versions.
