Can the fit pc be timed to wake up and go into standby?

Is fit-PC2 good for my intended application?

Can the fit pc be timed to wake up and go into standby?

Post by Charliebishop »

Hello,

I am currently running an experiment with a weather station in a remote location. The weather station has a datalogger. I also have a few solar panels and batteries with a datalogger as well.

I am looking for a low power computer which can turn on several times per day, connect to the dataloggers and then upload this data to an FTP site.

I do not have the battery capacity to run the fit pc 24/7. I was thinking ideally it would be good to turn on every 2 hours for 15 minutes, run my scripts for data download and upload and then go back into standby to save power.

So can the fit pc2/i be configured to wakeup and go into standby like this? I know it has a wake on LAN option but this is of no use to me. If this isn't possible is the intense pc or fit pc3 an option?

If none of these are able to do this, could someone recommend a product that can?

Cheers,
