Got my ubuntu fitPC2 - plugged it into my Panasonic Vieta TV using DVI to DVI cable. Grub boot screen appears - text overflows the boundaries of the screen with lots of flicker - then Ubuntu splash screen appears ok with travelling progress bar. When that finishes screen goes black and nothing is displayed. This ain't good. Incidentally the Panasonic TV displays the text 1080i in top left hand of screen. Is interlaced a problem?
I want to buy a monitor/TV for the fitPC2 but am now scared to do so - it seems that it supports DVI but is not for all monitors/TV's. Can someone clarify exactly what the TV/monitor must support ?

In case you want to get rid of flickering in text mode, then edit file /boot/grub/menu.lst as root and add option:
vga=0x0303
to first "kernel" line, e.g.:
You don't need to run anything after saving the file. Just look at the console after next reboot.

to first "kernel" line, e.g.:
Code: Select all
