Hi,

I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 as explained on "Installing Ubuntu 9.10" link. I could not get the mplayer subtitles to work. I have tried various mkv files with .srt subtitles. Anybody experiencing the same issue? Can you please help me out?

Unfortunately OSD/Subtitles are not supported in mplayer-vaapi.

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for the reply. At least I do not have to bug myself to get it to work

I guess mplayer is compiled with subtitles disabled. Do you have any plans to work on it in the near future?

Is there anyother tested video player that will provide subtitles and HD video?
