Unable to enter BIOS setup - RTC & CMOS checksum bad

When I boot my fit-PC2, I see several warnings displayed very briefly before control passes to the OS boot code:

Code: Select all

ERROR
0271: Check date and time settings
WARNING:
0251: System CMOS checksum bad - Default configuration used
Despite holding down the F2 key, I am unable to enter BIOS to reset things.

Any tips for what to do in this situation?

EG: Should I try replacing the internal CMOS/RTC battery? Or try shorting the BIOS reset jumper? etc...

Thanks.

This behavior including the fact that the fit-pc2 is fairly matured could conclude in an old RTC battery that needs to be replaced.

Try to repeatedly press F2 on startup rather than holding it, you should be able to access the BIOS menu.

Thanks, tamir.

Does the fit-pc2 use same battery as the IPC's?
Type ML1220 3V 18mAh.

We use a re-chargeable ML1220 3V 18mAh battery in the fit-pc2.
