switch on and off FIt PC2 from remote location

Hi,
i need to Power On and Power OFF the FIT pc2 from the remote location, how ?
kindly help me.
pls. my platform is ubuntu 10.04

Power off is easy. The shutdown command can do that, specifically
shutdown -P now
(assuming that you have secure remote root access in to the computer).
Power cycle (sort of) is easy. The shutdown command can do that, specifically
shutdown -r now
The above apply to the fit-PC2i. Maybe someone can confirm that the above also apply to the fit-PC2.
Did you need remote power on too? Maybe you can do that with wake-on-LAN (WOL) ?? but you would therefore need any relevant network equipment to be itself powered on first and it would need to support WOL.

PS The fit-PC2i is supposed to be "auto on" i.e. if the power comes on then the device comes on. Hence if you don't power the device off yourself, you shouldn't have the need to power the device on remotely. Is that going to meet your requirement?

Please describe in some detail what equipment of any type is present at the remote location, other than the fit-PC2.
Such equipment includes but is not limited to how the fit-PC2 is powered and what the network, if any, looks like.

At the remote location . i would be using mobile phone.
From mobile phone, how to contact the Fit PC2.
I need to switch On and switch OFF the fit pc2 ?

With FITPC2 i got a robot.
now the problem is, as i switch on the FITPC2 from remote location, the robot has to function simultaneously!!!!!!!!!!!
is their any way ?

OK, so with the fit-PC there is a robot.
Does the fit-PC control the robot?
Is the robot connected to the fit-PC in any way? (wired or wireless)
Is there any network where the fit-PC is? If so, please describe.
I assume that both the fit-PC and the robot have power but how are they powered?
Is there some reason why you want to switch off the fit-PC? If you don't switch it off and it has the "auto on" option then you should never need to switch the fit-PC on. The fit-PC will simply be "on" if there is power and "off" if there is no power.
