HI support,
I noticed that the UUID for all the IPC3 that we have purchased are all the same set to:
wmic path win32_computersystemproduct get uuid
UUID
03000200-0400-0500-0006-000700080009
I don't think this is correct, and should probably be fixed with a bios update.
these duplicate UUIDs are causing us issues when we try to deploy these machines via SCCM.
is this something that can be corrected?
Many Thanks
Fil.

Re: uuid not unique
Hi Fil,
Did the IPC3 came with stock OS or built with custom OS provided by your organization?

Tamir.

Re: uuid not unique
HI tamir,
it didn't come with any image on it.
we are dropping an vanilla Windows image onto it ourselves .. via SCCM / pxe booting.

Re: uuid not unique
Have you any knowledge about if the image had been syspreped before cloning ?
Re: uuid not unique
yes it has been ..
that same image is also working with all other hardware that we use for desktops. (Dell & HP)

Re: uuid not unique
One of my colleagues tried it on 2 other machines .... (which were just taken out of the box)
in the PXE logs on the server I can see them being identified with the same incorrect UUID this is before our image is being dropped on these pc's.
Proving the image is not at fault....
00:01:C0:1E:8D:4F, 03000200-0400-0500-0006-000700080009
(serial: 1170608-05935)
00:01:C0:1E:8D:28, 03000200-0400-0500-0006-000700080009
(serial: 1170608-05940)
both were upgraded to the latest bios that was mentioned on the website as well before we attempted the PXE booting.
(bios version: IPC3K.PRD.0.25.04)
Thanks

Re: uuid not unique
Hello Fil,
The BIOS update has caused UUID reset.
Please don't upgrade other IPC3 units to IPC3K.025.04 before we will find solution for this issue.

Re: uuid not unique
I've checked a few more units now that I am back in the office.
They all have this version of the bios installed already.
Can we downgrade the bios or when will an updated/fixed version will be available?
Thanks
Fil.
