Cannot boot

Post by mikeFitPC »

My new fitlet-x-lan barbone with a 8GB RAM and m2-SSD card will not show any information on the monitor.

when I power it up with RAM and SSD card in, it only blinks green every 9 to 10 secs.

I did reset the bios via the hardware button.

When I remove the RAM, the power button blinks constantly...

The unit gets quite hot, as if it is doing something.

I switched the HDMI port already, but no signal to monitor either. HDMI cable works on other monitor.

Any idea? Can you help me in any way or do you recommend to request an RMA?

Thanks
Mike

The fitlet series does not support M.2 SSDs, only mSATA. I am guessing mSATA is
what you used. If not, that could be one problem.

Next, what is the make, model, and speed of your RAM module?

Uhh, my mistake: it is an msata.

it is this drive: Kingston HDSSD mSATA 120GB mS200

and this RAM:
Crucial 8GB DDR3L 1600 MT/s RAM ((PC3L-12800) SODIMM 204-Pin - CT102464BF160B)

Does this help?

This should be fine.

Yes, that RAM should also be fine.

My only suggestions at present are these;
  • Re-seat or remove the FACET card, (which has the 3 x LAN ports on it).
  • Remove the mSATA drive and any other drive, (like USB). Then power up.
If none of that helps, and no one else has any suggestions, RMA it, (return it for
service or replacement).
