monitor/display won't come on when rebooting

Just bought a fit-PC4 Pro and have installed Win 7 Pro. The monitor is connected using the DVI to HDMI adapter cable. If Windows is running and we try to restart, the fit-PC seems to restart fine, but the monitor won't "kick in" and power up. Have tried 2 different monitors, so don't think it's the monitor (although both were DVI monitors).

I found that if the fit-PC is unplugged for power and also the monitor is unplugged and plugged in again, sometimes it does boot up, but sometimes not.

Any thoughts on a solution?

PS - I have a headless adapter and with that plugged in I can Remote Desktop in. But really need a solution regarding the restart.

Have you tried both HDMI outputs of fit-PC4?
What resolution is configured?
Have you tried other monitor/cable?

Make sure you installed Windows and all the necessary drivers (all):

Please follow these basic troubleshooting steps:

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, have tried both HDMI ports.
Resolution is 1920x1080.
As per OP above, have tried 2 different (make and models different) monitors.
All drivers were installed.
None of the troubleshooting steps at that link seem relevant?

The most important step in the troubleshooting guide is BIOS reset. Have you done that?
Also, it is important to have memory installed. If using one SO-DIMM the location important. YOu will find all the instructions on the troubleshooting page.

If none of the above helps, please consider RMA:

Hi, and thanks again for your reply.

I didn't do the BIOS reset. I haven't made any changes to the BIOS, the unit is brand new out of the box, and the troubleshooting page isn't clear that you need to do that every time you have an issue.

Memory is installed, it's 2x8GB sticks, and they appear to be registering correctly when Win7 is running.

Just so that I'm clear on the BIOS reset, how does one "short" it? Just connect the 2 with a paperclip or something?

Yes, connect the 2 test points with a paperclip or some other metal.
