Re: Poulsbo Drivers for GMA500 intel chip on Jaunty (9.04)

blegas78: Add "psb" (without the quotes) on a new line at the end of the file. It's just the name of the modules that should be loaded at boot. The HoriSync and VertRefresh are values that can be found in your monitor manual. Those written in my xorg.conf sample are specific for my monitor, so you m...

Re: Poulsbo Drivers for GMA500 intel chip on Jaunty (9.04)

I've finally put together some packages for testing. These packages might break your system and I take no responsibility for any damage they may cause. They are intended for testing only! Inside the tarball are instructions on how to install. Read them carefully! You must have the 2.6.28-13-generic ...

Re: Ubuntu 9.04 wlan support for RT3090

SaWey: There's no gfx driver so you must use VESA (very slow). There are ACPI (or IO-APIC) related issues so you must change some BIOS settings to make it stable. Rebooting doesn't work either, you must roll your own kernel for that. tisoft_media: Could you give more details on why the driver from t...

Re: Poulsbo Drivers for GMA500 intel chip on Jaunty (9.04)

Just a quick status update... I've resolved most of the problems with the PSB driver for 9.04. The freezes was solved by disabling C-states in the BIOS (GV3 works fine). This wasn't at all related to the psb driver. The flickering has also disappeared. Unfortunately there are problems with the drive...

Re: ACPI Kernel issue

As long as you have GV3 selected in the BIOS you get CPU frequency scaling. It seems to work just as you'd expect it to work. But if you disable both C-States and GV3 you won't get any scaling at all.

Re: ACPI Kernel issue

Hi ekips, I had similar problems with 2.6.28. The system seems to hang when changing C-States, but by disabling C-states in the BIOS and using GV3 instead the problem went away. Hope it helps.

Re: Poulsbo Drivers for GMA500 intel chip on Jaunty (9.04)

I finally managed to get the psb driver working (kind of) with 9.04. The 3D binary blob doesn't work since it's not compiled for Jaunty. This makes the driver pretty slow (but I'm kinda pushing it at 1920x1200). There is also some screen artifacts and every now and then the system freezes. The drive...

Re: Poulsbo Drivers for GMA500 intel chip on Jaunty (9.04)

I'm working on getting the drivers to work with Jaunty (no promises though). Since I don't have a FIT-PC2 I haven't been able to do any testing. The driver consists of several parts: * The psb LKM and a special version of the drm LKM (both compiles in 9.04) * A firmware image (msvdx_fw.bin) * A modi...
