Putting the eSATAp on the FACE module should work the same,
since I recall it having access to 2 SATA ports on the internal
FACE connector.

eSATA verses eSATAp
For later models of the fit-PC3, could you consider making 2 USB 2.0 ports on the back a combo with eSATAp?

Re: Mint claims SATA-II controller
Hello, Since the controller manage everything SATA onboard (2.5 in SATA, mSATA, eSATA) is it able to adjust speed to individual drives? If I plug 2 SATA III 6gps drives in mSATA port and eSATA port for example, but put a SATA II 3gps 2.5 in drive in the bay will the controller downgrade all drives ...

Also posting a change log of what was changed or fixed in each BIOS release.
Thus, someone like me who was interested in the SATA-III fix could tell which
BIOS fixes which problem.

Re: PCIe Faceplate
I wish that particular FACE module had dual mSATA instead of just dual mini-PCIe. (mSATA uses the same form factor as a full sized mini-PCIe but adds in the option to use the slot for a mSATA device instead of a mini-PCIe device.) That is an interesting idea that we did not consider yet. Do you hav...

Re: PCIe Faceplate
I read somewhere in the fit-PC 3 documentation that the FACE PCIe ports can be used as four, 1 lane OR one, 4 lane width. So it's both, depending on the FACE module. I would guess other variations would be possible, (for example, two, 2 lane widths). Now for the connector, no, from what I read, the ...

Re: Website feedback for FitPC3 - Identify all of the IO por
As a professional computer support person, I also find hardware documentation quite valuable. For example the Sun System Handbook is very useful when I work as a Solaris System Administrator. This handbook included sections for processor, it's speed, and core count. Plus, annotated pictures, I/O por...

Re: CentOS 6.2 doesn't automatically boot (grub)
You know, if a normal timeout like 10 seconds won't work and the box is stuck, it's almost like Grub does not have a working timer. If that is the case, it might be possible to re-compile Grub to use a different timer. Even a simple software timer might be acceptable. For example, if the serial port...

Ethernet port - AMD A55E controller hub
It would appear that the A55E has a built in 1Gbps Ethernet port. However, all the fit-PC3 documentation I could find shows that a Realtek device is in use. For example, this fit-PC3 block diagram; http://www.fit-pc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=2477 Is the AMD A55E controller hub Ethernet port un-...

Re: storage
It would appear that both the 2.5" SATA drive slot and the mSATA drive slot use the same SATA controller chip, thus same drivers. So it would likely be 144PB, (PetaByte = 1024 terabytes). See ATA-6: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AT_Attachment#Interface_size_limitations Of course, the OS may limit the...
