Re: IDE and SATA to USB adapter
The USB2IDE/SATA adapter provides power to 2.5" IDE disks from the USB port. This is because 2.5" IDE uses a 44 pin connector that includes power lanes. But in order to connect 3.5" IDE disk (the one with 40 pin connector) or any SATA disk (2.5" or 3.5"), you need to use also the power brick that I ...

Re: Broadcom - bcm 70015 mini-pcie care
You can buy BCM70015 from eBay or from Logic Supply at around 50$ each.
Logic Supply ship worldwide: http://www.logicsupply.com/products/bcm970015
I purchased 2 units for evaluation but haven't tested them in FitPC2 yet.

Re: IDE and SATA to USB adapter
You can use the one I attached (could be also this is exactly the one you tried). It works fine for me. No need for drivers but you need to provide power to SATA disks as the adapter itself only able to power IDE disks. Also the disks are not auto-mounted in Linux. You need to mount them manually. I...

Re: Need for heatsink, and CPU underclocking
1) In your described conditions the heat sink is not needed. It could be needed if the ambient temperature is high or if FitPC2 is placed inside a closed plastic box with no air ventilation. 2) You can underclock the CPU via BIOS but it's not recommended since: a. It changes the FSB speed and not th...

Re: Size mini SD card
Ubuntu can boot from SD if you use a boot loader with SD driver in stage 1 so that it can load stage 2. If you install Ubuntu on SD but do not add the SD driver as part of stage 1 loader, it will not continue loading and will stuck after stage 1 when it tries to find the SD card and cannot find it (...

Re: AHCI supported?
FitPC2 is IDE, not SATA. It uses Marvell IDE-to-SATA bridge so that you can connect SATA hard disk. But AHCI is not available as the computer thinks it works with IDE. To the point: if you bought Sandforce-based SSD (this is the only controller that gives benefit in AHCI mode), this is probably way ...

Re: Size mini SD card
SDHC is supported in latest BIOS (just upgrade your BIOS if you have old one).
SDHC size limit is 32GB if I am not mistaken.
But remember that not every OS can boot from SD, regardless of the size.

Re: Using Fit-PC2 for projecting pictures
If you intend to project only static pictures, then 1.1GHz is enough. Codecs are needed only for movies; for pictures you just install the drivers and no need for any codecs.

Yes, if you use FitPC2 rev. 1.4 together with the device you linked, it will fit your demands.

Re: How is power on/off working
In FitPC2 rev. 1.21 USB is powered on when power is supplied to FitPC2. In FitPC2 rev. 1.4 USB is powered off when FitPC2 is off. FitPC2 "on" option (rev. 1.4 and "ON" modification on rev. 1.21) will always power on when it was off and power is applied. FitPC2 rev. 1.21 without "ON" modification wil...
