Serial sticker peels off
Hey CompuLab, Purchased a second MintBox for a project and noticed that this one has the same problem as the one I purchased a year ago. Mainly: when the computer heats up, the adhesive on the serial number sticker loses its stickiness and peels off. I have taken to putting the serial number on the ...

Re: IPC2 not working anymore
The computer will never boot without memory installed. It is not a graphics problem, the computer needs at least one DIMM installed to function . Powering it on without any memory installed will not work, ever. Always have at least one memory module (DIMM) installed. From the CompuLab troubleshootin...

Re: IPC2 not working anymore
Does one of you know if it is possible to enter the bios without RAM installed? I never get a splash screen or some text even if the pc is on. No. You need at least one DIMM installed to use any functions of the computer, including the BIOS. This is the case for all computers that have user replace...

Re: No analog audio output
Have you looked at this thread yet?
Several other people have had issues with analog audio output with the MintBox on Linux. The solution is to change the output from Digital Audio to Analog Audio. This can be done through the "pavucontrol" program.

Re: PCI-e revision
Just wanted to follow up on this and share my experience: Yes, mini PCI-e to external PCI-e adapters do work with the MintBox 2. I tried with an NVidia GT 520M and the performance increase when playing Steam games was very noticeable. BUT there are some drawbacks to this: - Intel video will be disab...

Re: PCI-e revision
Thank you for the offer, but I don't think I want PEG enough to pay for a custom FACE module to be developed.
I ordered a mini-PCIe to PCI-e x1 adapter. It will be interesting to see what (if any) performance increase there is with a discrete card on the PCI-e 2.0 x1 link.

Re: External HDD connecting through USB(3) errors
@koenc86: I have a USB3 external hard drive (laptop SATA hard drive in a USB3 enclosure) and I have no problems using the hard drive with my MintBox 2 via USB3. From your syslog it sounds like you have either a bad USB port, bad cable, or bad sectors on your external hard drive. Do you experience th...

Re: PCI-e revision
@mbirger: Thanks for clarifying the PCI-e revision. On the MintBox 2 block diagram the PCI-e 3.0 x8 and x1 buses from the CPU are shown as unused. However in your post you implied that the PEG is exposed through a different FACE module. Could you clarify if those buses are available for use with a d...

Re: Max screen resolution.
mbirger, zelogik is probably asking because he plans to use something like the Matrox DualHead2Go ( http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/legacy/gxm/dh2go/displayport/ ) which splits the incoming image into two separate ones (each with half the horizontal pixels of the original) for spanning ac...

PCI-e revision
Hello, Could you please confirm that the mini-PCIe slots present in the MintBox 2 are PCI-e rev. 2.0 compliant? I see from Intel's documentation that the HM76 provides two PCI-e rev. 2.0 x1 links. The CompuLab system diagram shows the PCI-e revision for the links from the CPU (which are unused) but ...
