Images and first tests after switching disks and power suppl

בס"ד Thank you very much for your reply. I reply to your points out-of-order: c. What is the fit-PC2 HW revision? You can make a photo after opening the mechanical bracket. It might be related to the Network fix?! Here is a photo of the "bad" FitPC2 and of its disk: http://www.yaakovnet.net/bad-fitp...

Sometimes my FitPC2 doesn't start up at all --- what to do?

בס"ד Sometimes, powering-on my FitPC2 (by pressing the power-on button) just lights up the power-on LED with no other signs of life: No display signal. The computer does not accept ssh connections (but it usually does). Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't switch down the computer (but it usually does). Pr...

Sound problems in recent Linux Distributions [SOLVED]

I am a happy FitPC2 user for over two years. When I installed Debian Linux 6.0 (squeeze) back then, sound recording and playback worked out-of the-box. Now, I upgraded to the recent Debian/testing (jessie) distribution and find that sound doesn't work: At best, playback is "choppy" and recording doe...

Re: Remote shutdown

I run Linux on my PCs and I routinely switch them off by logging in as root through the LAN and executing the following command:

shutdown -h now

This shuts down the PC normally.

Re: Debian/squeeze installation: ok out-of-the box

Do you know if there any trouble expected with the SSD version? So far, I have never used SSD --- so I don't know. From what I read in this forum and on the web, I would guess: FitPC2 follows normal PC standards (with high quality). What works for "normal" PCs should also work for the FitPC2. Debia...

Re: LED control / way to announce system statuses ==> Debian

[BS"D]

Dear Denis,

how can I use the sch_gpio module in Debian?

I installed Debian/squeeze without any modifications. So far, the module is not available:

# modprobe sch_gpio
FATAL: Module sch_gpio not found.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Memory test: too small lower memory

[BS"D] I recently received my new Fit-PC2. (fit-PC2-D1gG-C1600-W-H-XL). The grub bootloader menu shows (after options to boot to Mint Linux) two entries: Memory test (memtest 86+) and Memory test (memtest 86+, serial console 115200). When I select any of these memory test options, I receive the foll...
