Note: The mixer ( xmixer ) works. I can turn on/off mic IN and even adjust left or right master channel volume. This I get know, because I can hear the subtle noice from the speakers.
But xmms and other applications produce no sounds!

Re: don't see mini-SD under FreeBSD 8.2
I was mistaken... The system doesn't hang. The manipulations with miniSD only block all USB (then mouse and keyboard are dead).
The problem is not solved.

don't see mini-SD under FreeBSD 8.2
Just install FreeBSD 8.2 on my new Fit-PC2.
I cannot find 2Gb MiniSD card in /dev/*.
Fdisk doesn't detect it too.
Meanwhile looks like BIOS detect the card.

using SD for /temp /logs and swap?
I am going to use Fit-PC2 with SSD. Is it a nice idea to use an old 2Gb MiniSD for storing temporary files and logs (to spare SSD extra writing operations)? Does somebody have such experience? Also is it useful to make there a system swap partition (undo FreeBSD or Linux) or such performance expecte...

Does fit-PC2 controller support TRIM command for SSD?
Re: Car PC?
I suppose a good solution is to bye a car adapter for some notebook that eat 12V DC (or "universal" adaptor).
For example for Asus EEE 900/901.
It can supply safe 12V 2A power from car 12/24 V.

USB overload
If the current eventually will up to 1A, wouldn't it damage the port in fit-PC2 ??irads wrote:Other computers usually provide more current through USB than the 0.5A specified by the standard. Most hard-disks require up to 1A....
