Re: Audio bleed-through of electrical noise

See http://fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=980 Thank you. I tried that BIOS setting change in your link, but it made no difference after I reinstalled my USB 5.1 audio adapter (using the optical connection) - still getting very distorted audio at any volume setting, as before. So for now I g...

Re: Audio bleed-through of electrical noise

AoRaToS, believe it or not, the audio hum actually increases when I unplug the HDMI cable from the back of the Fit-PC2. At this point, I've sort of given up. I've made no headway getting the USB 5.1 audio adapter to work (it's not a hardware problem, the FitPC2 is just not compatible with it using t...

Problem with BIOS update

A new BIOS was released on 21-Jul. Yes, I found that and downloaded the update files. Followed the instructions for prepping my USB flash drive, but the system reports "Remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart." until I remove the flash drive. So for now at least I can't do a BIOS upda...

Re: Audio bleed-through of electrical noise

Irad, I am using the factory-installed WinXP Home and haven't done any OS reinstalls or mods other than configuring basic properties; perhaps I was misunderstood . . . I tested the USB adapter with *other* PCs here that are running WinXP Pro (I have no other systems running XP Home). I'll check arou...

Re: Is there any battery for fit-pc2?

I just bought one of these to backup my Fit-PC2, cablemodem and router: http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BE750G My delivered price was US$86, so it's pretty inexpensive, yet includes many advanced features including full software monitoring and control (via USB connect...

Re: Audio bleed-through of electrical noise

The Fitpc is not at fault. Your reciever is making the "electical noise" or as its more refered to as AC hum. Shielding would help, but I do not believe that it is the issue at hand. It sounds like a grounding issue. Thanks for the idea, but have already tested that. Used the same cable/input to th...

Re: USB 5.1 Audio adapter not working properly

fit-PC2 audio codec is not involved in this setup. - The distortion might be typical of that adapter - you may check that by connecting it to another PC. - Try to obtain specific device drivers for this adapter. - fit-PC2 audio drivers might interfere. Try disabling them in device manager. - In the...

Re: Audio bleed-through of electrical noise

Attempting to work around the hum issue, I purchased this USB-to-optical5.1 adapter: http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=112&sku=22327 The unit "works", but the audio is grossly distorted - it sounds as if it's being horribly overdriven at very high levels by the Fit-PC2; even if I turn dow...

Power-fail default to 640x480x16color with HDMI TV off

Hello, Have my Fit-PC2 configured on my LAN as a 24/7 music/browser server - display is my Panasonic plasma HDTV at 1920x1080p resolution on the HDMI2 input, and audio output to my A/V receiver. Works great. But if power fails, even briefly, and the Fit-PC2 shuts down, it will reboot to 640x480x16co...

Re: Audio bleed-through of electrical noise

Both good suggestions, but unfortunately made no difference. My audio plug was seated all the way previously, and muting EVERYTHING (including the master volume) made no difference - it's a pretty fundamental bleedthrough. So I suppose I just have to sit tight and wait for the USB-to-optical audio a...
