needing kernel patch for FitPC2i rev. 1.1

Hi, I've got a FitPC2i rev. 1.1 down in my cellar which runs fine under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - with kernel 2.6.35. Now that the next LTS Ubuntu release is due, I'd like to upgrade too - but there's a problem: That rev. 1.1 model got the hardware quirks which hinders the stock ubuntu kernel from finding ...

Re: Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS fit-pc2i rev 1.1 iso for HD install

Hi axcoco, can you give a little howto on how you modified the iso image? Did you use the gui or the command line? UCKs docs are not very extensive and I have to reinstall my fitpc2i rev. 1.1 without having an usb keyboard nor a monitor available :-/ I already managed to find sufficient infos about ...

Re: Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS fit-pc2i iso image available

Just so you know, axcoco: your iso worked like a charm here, my fit-pc2i now runs under Lucid Lynx Server Edition flawlessly. Just a bit of a problem when trying to install grub - somehow the package wasn't loaded correctly and install into MBR failed. Going back to the installer menu and updating p...

Re: Ubuntu 10.04

Almost, I've recompile the kernel and made the ubuntu server iso boots from a modified initrd. I just have to set the new kernel image in grub so the new kernel is used at every boots and the hdd is always detected after the installation. Great news. As I don't know how to modify the server iso - m...

Re: Re-Installation from USB

Hi, thanks for reminding me of this thread. Ok, here's what happened to me: I found out that the Atom CPU is a 32bit CPU, so I took the 32bit-Edition of the Lucid-Server-CD and installed it. Using LVM lead to grub not being installable in MBR, so I had to re-install again and didn't use LVM - so the...

Re: Support for Lucid?

Hmm. OK, I forgot that I just use it as a server and that others might want other stuff included as well. Sorry 'bout that. What I referred to - so far the official lucid kernels don't have that patch for recognising the slave harddisk included, so in order to use a fit-pc2i with extra harddisk one ...

Support for Lucid?

ok, April is still a bit ahead, and so is the release of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - but I wonder, how long will it take to officially support that release? I don't like patching the kernel again with every new version in the repos ;)

Re-Installation from USB (solved)

Hi! I nearly completely messed up my fitPC2i-Ubuntu that came preinstalled when trying to turn it into a server installation. Bad thing, gotta solve that soon. Now that I read that the fitPC2i has issues with HDD detection, will it be possible at all to install the server edition? Which one should I...

remote login?

Hi! Just received my brand new fit-PC2i just with that 4GB flash and Ubuntu Linux installed. :D As I don't have a HDMI-capable monitor around I just thought I may login remotely - but as far as my dhcp server and nmap tell me, the box doesn't even apply for an IP (connected to a switch on both ehter...
