I need g++-4.4-multilib in Ubuntu 8.04

Hello

I got a Fitpc2 running as small home server.

I run Ubuntu 8.04LTS for a longtime and is realy stabe.

I now got a new program that needs g++-4.4-multilib.

How can I put this in to my box?

I hope not to install new Ubuntu as all is running fine now.

The Problem is that ftdi driver is broken in 9.04 and 9.10

Hi

As I got problems with Ubiuntu 9.04 and 9.10 I would like to know if ubuntu 10.04 will work un the fit or does it need special ubuntu?

Hi

It looks like Ubuntu has some problems with FTDI Serial2usb coinverters
Problem came in Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10.
Ubuntu 8.04 works fine with FTDI USB2Serial convertes.
Lets hope it is fixet in 10.04

OK
Lets hope they got time to look at it soon, as I need this litle box.

But it look like RMA is slow, I haven't got any responce, no mail back.

I wonder how long repair is going to be. If it takes more than 3 days to reply an email.

hi Well After I has waited for a reply I decided to make a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 again. But I can't install it any more. The box will not go longer than 48% procent in the installation, then it conplains about cd problems. I burned a new CD in the usb drive in low speed. got same result 48%. ...

Hi I think I see someting like you! I use a Usb smartcard reader based n FTDI chipset. If I do a reboot with that in the system, The application just go crasy. I cant even kill the process.
