Error loading operating system

I have an old Fit PC Slim linux that has been sitting unused, in a cupboard for probably 5-6 years. I now have a need for it. It worked when I put it away in 2010. Pulled it out and powered it on today and I get "Error loading operating system" Anyone have any suggestions on what happened, and how I...

Re: Output to Composite

How about the VGA output on the original FitPC? I still have one of those laying around. Is that easier to convert to composite video?

Re: Output to Composite

This is an old post so your link is dead. I'm looking to connect my FitPC2 to a monitor with only composite input. I don't need audio, only video. There are HDMI to composite adapters such as these, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Composite-1080p-HDMI-to-RCA-Audio-Video-AV-CVBS-Adapter-Converter-for-HDTV-/1...

Re: losing touchscreen on reboot

Thanks for the reply. I don't know what "stateless" means in this application. As for the "marginality" of the display, it was purchased brand new, and the company said all units are tested before shipping. Nothing changed between the times it would work and not work. For that matter, nothing change...

losing touchscreen on reboot

I have a new Lilliput 629GL/DVI touch screen that I'm connecting to a FitPC2 running Windows XP. I installed the touch drivers and it works fine. But, after a reboot, the touch screen is not working. The touchscreen config tool indicates that there is no touch controller. If I uninstall/re-install, ...

RTHDCPL.EXE error

I installed WinXP on a new SSD. I then installed the WinXP Drivers for FitPC2. ( http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/xp-drivers ) After the next (and subsequent) boots I get: RTHDCPL.EXE - Unable To Locate Component This application has failed to start because HHCTRL.OCX was not found. Re-installing the...

Re: auto-on Mod

Space on Amazon is too limited to explain what is auto-on and how it behaves.. I think what TimeScience meant is not a description of what auto-on is or how it behaves on the reseller site, but simply a boolean field: does this model I am buying have auto-on or not. In any case, TimeScience -- on a...

Re: Using Fit-PC as CarPC - Power options

You're right, there is none and this is one of the big limitations of the Fit. There is suposedly an "auto-on" option, where the Fit turns itself on once power is applied, but no place sells them that I have been able to find (unless you purchase internationally from Compulab directly and wait 5 wee...
